RECIPES
How to "pretzel" anything
What you need:
6 Cups Water
4 Tablespoons Baking Soda
1 Egg White
Salt
Dough from whatever you are making
1. Start with your normal dough for whatever you were making… bread sticks, rolls, buns, bread, whatever! After it has risen all of the way you begin the process. I am using rolls now.
2. You mix water with baking soda (I put 6 cups to 4 tablespoons of baking soda) in a large frying pan and let it come to a simmer.
3. Then you put the raw dough in the lightly boiling baking soda water for 30-60 seconds on each side.
4. After they have been boiled in the baking soda on each side take them out and place them on your greased cookie sheet.
5. Whip up an egg white and baste it over the top of them
6. Grind salt over the top of them
7. I sliced them down the middle to create a nice split when they baked
8. Bake them until they look like pretzels, everything is different
The Best Cheddar Bay Biscuits
2 Cups Bisquick
3 Cloves Garlic, Minced
1 1/2 Cups Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
2/3 Cup Milk
1 tsp (ish) Oregano
2 Tablespoons Melted Butter (for the top)
1. Preheat oven to 400. Grease a baking sheet.
2. Combine bisquick, garlic, cheese, milk, and oregano in a bowl.
3. Once the dough is mixed well, place it right onto the greased baking sheet (I usually use my small melon baller), make sure they are not smoothed out, they need to be kind of spiky.
4. Bake for 10 minutes (or until golden brown on top).
5. Meanwhile, melt the butter and grab a baster brush for when the biscuits come out.
6. Once biscuits come out, place them onto a serving platter and baste with butter then grind some fresh sea salt over them.
7. Serve warm and try not to eat all of them yourself! Enjoy!
What you need:
- Some sort of pan for the chicken to sit on with the veggies in the bottom like a pie pan. I use a circular Pampered Chef stone.
- Beer can chicken stand
Ingredients:
- 1 Can of beer
- 1 whole chicken
- 3 russet potatoes
- 3 carrots
- 1/2 an onion
- Celtic Sea Salt (regular salt will work too)
- Oregano
- Garlic Salt
- Ground Pepper
- Coconut oil (Olive oil will work too)
What to do:
- Preheat oven to 375
- Empty half of the can of beer into the bottom of your pan and keep the other half of the beer in your can.
- Place the can into the beer can chicken stand
- Put the chicken over the top of the beer can and situate him so he is sitting up
- Chop up your potatoes, carrots, and onion and put them in the bottom of your pan with the beer.
- Rub down your chicken with the coconut oil or whatever you are using until it is thoroughly covered. Let some of the oil fall into the veggies.
- Rub the salt, oregano, garlic salt, and ground pepper liberally all over the chicken and veggies.
- Bake at 375 for 1 hour or until the chicken reaches 165.
- Take out of oven and carefully take the bird off of the stand. This is easiest when done with two people and tongs.
- Place chicken on a platter, carve, and serve!
- Keep veggies in the pan or place into a separate bowl but make sure to keep the juices and serve!
